Dr. Kim speaks on Finding Purpose in Pain to help expose participants to a different vantage point on what pain truly is and why we have it. Through discussion on the purpose of pain, why we resist it and why we don’t heal, participants will begin to see a different way of looking at and experiencing pain in their lives. Dr. Kim will also facilitate discussion on what healing truly is in comparison to the western thought of healing as being equal to curing. These topics segway with the topic of forgiveness, and participants will gain insight into what true forgiveness is and a practical application to how to forgive, even when we really don’t want to. Interactive exercises include an experiential meditation to actually experience what it’s like to investigate pain as opposed to run from it, a meditation to open the heart to embody a greater sense of compassion for self and others and a guided meditation on forgiveness.
