Qigong to Calm and Energize

Learn Qigong for fitness, health, and fun!

Practiced through a single movement, or in sets of various movements, Qigong will open, stretch, strengthen and heal your body from the inside out.

While Qigong is much easier to learn (and simpler to practice) than Tai Chi, its gentle flowing movements can be equally challenging to master. Much of what makes Qigong unique is exactly what gives Tai Chi its powerful health benefits.

Sometimes called “Chinese Yoga”, Qigong puts the breath and the mind into movements designed to balance the flows of Qi within your body, leaving you feeling energized and relaxed.

Bodhidharma brought Qigong to the Shaolin Temple about 1500 years ago to give the monks the health and strength they needed to meditate for long periods of time. Traditional Chinese Medicine relies on Qigong to balance and move energy through the acupuncture meridians. Literally translated, Qigong means “energy skill”.

A little Qigong break is a great way to get a quick recharge. The exercises will free your mind from being stuck in the challenges of the day, and free your body from the stresses accumulated while working.

Beginners will learn new movements and new ways of thinking about mindfulness and exercise. Ongoing classes will give practitioners a chance to delve deeper into the subtleties of the exercises and their benefits, add new movements to their vocabulary, and integrate mind, body, and breath to greatly improve overall wellbeing, flexibility, and focus.

Try to wear loose comfortable clothes and flat shoes or no shoes.
